Lessons and Instruction
The Pegasus Centre offers riding lessons and instruction for riders, including those with disabilities, from children aged 4 and above to adults, whatever their abilities.
We teach complete beginners, nervous riders, novice riders, intermediate riders and advanced riders. We also provide specialist instruction in Dressage and Para-Dressage and in Show-Jumping.
Qualified Instructors and Trained Volunteers
The Pegasus Centre is a designated centre for the Riding for the Disabled Association, and the home of the Morpeth RDA Group, so many of our instructors also have specialist RDA qualifications.
All of our volunteers receive training in how to understand and help people with disabilities to get the most out of their time in lessons. Our young volunteers have the opportunity to undertake the Young Equine Leaders Award.
Our horses and ponies are carefully chosen for their temperament, size and ability to work with disabled children and adults.
Riders are provided with BHS-approved riding helmets which are regularly checked to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
